App save space useless?

HI.

I find in the App secure file manager the notification that,

This app is useless if you have a rooted device “

At the explanation why we fond >

When an file is hidden, the file is moved from the “shared storage” to the “app-specific storage”. When an file is unhidden, the file is moved from the “app-specific storage” to the “shared storage”.

In case of rooted device, all applications can see the “app-specific storage”.

So, the app save space is useless for the same reason ?

Mentioned in app description. From security prospective yes useless for you if you’re not a root user.
It’s same as saying Chess game apps are useless if you don’t know how to play.

There are many such apps on F-Droid e.g. Restoid, WiFi Exporter etc.

Got it. It means root users can access whatever they want.
I guess apps like Anomo or Aer, Safe Space are also useless if you’re rooted.

Fluffy as well? There’s numerous other file manager applications you know.

I am not asking for a normall file managerm. There are a lot of… right.

Some manager are able to create a hidden place.

So, in the first post I explain that one of this file manager notice that > “ if you are root user, the app is useless “

And explains why.

So, the other, s file manager how are enable to create a hidden place are useless too on root ? For the same reason, see first posting.

You want to know if the app “Safe Space” (misspelled “save space”) is useless for root users too. The answer is likely yes. You may read its source code.

Also it says the files are encrypted by the system by default, which means they are not encrypted by this app. As root is the name for the highest administrator of the operating system, it can access whatever the system can access, so there’s no reason to assume that it would be secure on a rooted device, unless the files are encrypted by a key that is not stored in your phone.
