Hi tried to update some apps from F-Droid. Normally F-Droid updates them automatically but now it asks me if I’m sure to update from a different source.
Is this fine to update? Or maybe my phone is compromised?
This is the alert:
Did you switch between F-Droid and F-Droid basic?
Hi Jens, thanks for the help
I didn’t switch between F-Droid and F-Droid Basic.
I have always used F-Droid Basic.

Ask your ROM provider to fix the June breakage, see 4th paragraph: Additional repos shaping the UI | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository
/PS: Is nobody reading our News?
we even have RSS
I read the news, but I am on Android 13 at the moment and ignored the paragraph and the links to the bug reports. The bug reports describe the problem like it is mentioned here, but I didn’t get the news paragraph and this bug report together.
I am on Android 11 yet a few days ago while updating some F-droid apps a message briefly flashed on screen to the effect of “can not connect to Play Store”. I ignored it and the problem went away. This was the first and only time this has happened, so I mention it only for information.
This does not concern old Android ![]()
If on Android 12+, then you have unattended updates
If on Android 14 June update, then you might encounter this bug (on certain ROMs)
