Add option to choose whether to include original site when adding a mirror site

When adding a mirror site, the original site will also be added. Can the client give me an option when adding it, so that I can choose whether to add it.

Perhaps you don’t understand the Chinese network environment, I add mirror sites precisely because the original website cannot be accessed, including all those 20 “official mirrors”. I need to manually turn off the switches of these mirror sites to prevent the client from consuming a lot of time (about nearly 20 seconds are added) when checking these links each time.

For convenience, I may delete the entire official source, but every time I add the mirror site, it will automatically add the original site and official mirrors used for automatic switching. So in the end, I still have to manually click all the switches.

Therefore, I want to ask if the client can give me an option when adding a mirror site so that I can choose whether to add it.

Someone say that the offical mirrors are still accessiable and some of them are very fast. This is the actual test.

Which mirror do you use? The speed of some mirrors are 2MB+ which is fast enough for me.

I noticed that sometimes when the download speed is slow canceling the download and starting it again somehow makes it significantly faster!

saw the same yes

Yes, the clinet chooses the mirror randomly. When you retry the client may change the mirror to a faster one.

就默认的“官方镜像”全开,它随机选我也不知道哪个,20 个左右的镜像不能让我一个一个试吧。反正现在情况是很多连不上,个别连上的也就是几十kB/s。

I just opened the default “official mirror”. It randomly selected one and I had no idea which one it was. There were about 20 mirrors and I couldn’t try them one by one.Anyway, the current situation is that many cannot connect, and those that can connect only have a few dozen kB/s.

We’re working right now on better logic for choosing which mirror to use. To start with, we’ll provide options to use mirrors in your country, based on the country set in your language/locale setting. The other would be to prefer mirrors outside of your country.

Here’s that work:
