Add IronFox to F-Droid (Mull continued)

Mull is dead after slowly falling apart since October, it is now replaced and continued by IronFox.

Does it bother me at all if I use Iceraven?
Its already in FFUpdater.

Apparently IronFox will be updated more often than Iceraven but its brand new so idk.

It would be nice if the people behind IF were more transparent about who they are.

You should ask in Issues Ā· IronFox OSS / IronFox Ā· GitLab. They can’t see your post here.

Which part is not transparent to you? You can see their accounts and websites.

I’m one of the IronFox maintainers. My GitHub profile mentions just about everything about myself. What else do you wanna know?

If there are no issues, what do you want to see? :person_shrugging:

Not sure what is going on here, but this is sounding all filled with stupidity. Everyone needs to calm down.
FYI, the dev is using cloudflare, lols.

Join discord or matrix. So no official news. Hmm
Moreover they suggest use firefox sync. Lol, what is the use of a FF fork then? If I have to give over my data to FF ultimtaely, I better use FF instead of others.
Maybe I am just ranting here, but those are the kind of things they should not be suggesting at all.
Moreover, why does everyone keep fixating on the 2022 thread about FD and its issues! A lot is nonsense out there and a lot is way outdated too.

Again maybe very early morning rant here…

Ohh and nice points and awesome sarcasm @Licaon_Kter mate. Loved the way you went. The developers concern is illogical to a lot.

I don’t understand the fascination with Mull. Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn’t Mull always been a virtual copy of Fennec with just a few default values changed? And those values could be similarly changed in Fennec in ā€˜about:config’?

how to do those exactly on non-rooted devices?

If you are asking me: about:config are within firefox, no root required.

I’ll add manually 150 changes? F that

Could you point to 150 changes? I was under the impression that there were a lot less.

there are more than 5

That’s more like it. So, typing in Fennec ā€˜about:config’ will get you to that menu and you can change 10-15 default values. Those changes will persist through updates. So, you are basically doing it once.

P.S. Has there been a single time when a Mull new version was published before Fennec? (Rhetorical question).

Mull was always published before Fennec for Divest OS users or anyone that took it from the Divest Repo

but in F-Droid repo, they were published at the same time

Would there be a way to do it via the ā€œremote debugging via USBā€ feature that is toggled in the settings?
