Abandoned Merge Requests

​Hello everyone, today I will compile statistics of abandoned Merge Requests (MR) inside F-droid data. In it will participate only repositories with successful pipeline, because if pipeline is failed — the repository is abandoned is to blame the developer himself. In other cases probably maintainer forgot about MR. I will look how long ago was created MR, and when last time maintainer wrote in it messages or performed other actions. Participate will MRs which are created more than a month ago.

​We will divide them into CATEGORIES.
:red_square: RED CATEGORY — MR created more than 2 months ago, last response from maintainer more than 2 months ago, pipeline is successful. :orange_square: ORANGE CATEGORY — MR created more than 2 months ago, last response from maintainer more than 1 month ago, pipeline is successful. :yellow_square: YELLOW CATEGORY — MR created more than 1 month ago, last response from maintainer more than 1 month ago, pipeline is successful. !- Next go categories where last response was more than 3 weeks ago, which is not very much. :green_square: GREEN CATEGORY — MR created more than 2 months ago, last response from maintainer more than 3 weeks ago, pipeline is successful. :white_large_square: WHITE CATEGORY — MR created more than 1 month ago, last response from maintainer more than 3 weeks ago, pipeline is successful.

Anyone can help test those MRs. Install the apk and test if it works well. Then post the result in the MR.

I once showed how my app works in my merge request, but this MR still stuck. Maybe I need to test it differently? Or do I need more testers or another one?

This can save us time but we still need to check it. If you can help review other MRs (We have so many MRs waiting for review!) We can get to your MR sooner.

Just test random MRs? And what to do? Test only where pipeline passed? Can I type in another MRs? Or where type test result? Use screen record for test apps or record phone in camera?

If there is any app you want to merge sooner you can help review the MR. MRs with the review requested label are waiting for a final review. We test the apk on device, check if it works well. We also need to check if the app connects to any tracker or non free service, etc. It would be easier to review apps without INTERNET permission. You just need to check if it works on your device.

Open the Code Quality reports, find the apk url https://gitlab.com/vayun-mathur/data-6/-/jobs/13653732007/artifacts/raw/tmp/binaries/com.vayunmathur.music_20260325.binary.apk, install and test it. If you find that it doesn’t work, report it in the MR. If it works well, just leave a comment.
