@repetitivestrain our verification server rebuilt the app, any idea why the files appear sorted differently? /usr/bin/diffoscope --exclude-command .*apksigner verify.* --max-report-size 12345678 --max-diff-block-lines 128 --html unsigned/org.gnu.emacs_300093010.apk.diffoscope.html --text unsigned/org.gnu.emacs_300093010.apk.diffoscope.txt /home/fdroid/fdroiddata/tmp/org.gnu.emacs_300093010.apk /home/fdroid/fdroiddata/tmp/sigcp_org.gnu.emacs_300093010.apk
At the moment, asset index generation depends on the order in which the filesystem driver returns the children of directories, and aapt isn’t deterministic either, which produces these differences in the apk from one build to the next.
wonder if we can control that with disorderfs like metadata/rs.ltt.android.yml · master · F-Droid / Data · GitLab
I also omitted to mention that the timestamp at which each build is generated is recorded in assets/build_info.
I guess we can rm that at one point ![]()
The emacs-30.1 tag has been released. I’ll do what I can to provide a version code for the next release.
And should we add 30.1 or wait for the next release?
30.1 for the present, thanks.
I can’t access the repo. Is it down?
Apparently yes. One can expect Savannah to return to normal within 12 hours of downtime, probably fewer if the downtime overlaps with daytime in the U.S.
EDIT: It’s online now.
I hate to look unduly clamant, but…ping!
30.1 was added in metadata, emacs: 30.1 (!19982) · Merge requests · F-Droid / Data · GitLab
Why ping?
@repetitivestrain Where should I find the ndk version?
Any version between r10c and r27 is supported by Emacs 30, and the current development version also supports r27 and hopefully r28. I’d suggest remaining with r26c till the 31.x series is released, and at any rate it’s alright to remain on a single version indefinitely.
I failed to notice. My apologies…
- i am unable to downgrade to 30.0.93
- just installed version 30.1 org.gnu.emacs_300100001.apk
- tried to install 30.0.93 org.gnu.emacs_300093001.apk
after installing latest version - it says “app not installed”

Android does not allow downgrades.
Why would you even?
That is not possible with F-Droid’s builds. And I suggest remaining where you are, as two significant bugs were fixed between the pretest and the release.

- then i will say goodbye
- so use of sf apks seems
to be recommended way
for downgrade possibility - should i expect stable, beta
and daily build apks will be
available on ftp once resolved:
#75809 - Hard-coded version code is unsuitable for automated F-Droid Android package builds - GNU bug report logs
And I suggest remaining where you are, as two significant bugs were fixed between the pretest and the release.
