Best phone (smartphone) for custom ROM?

Thank you.
Are Apps equlvalent to Blokada, Wireshark, etc., available in F-Droid repo? Some, like PCAPdroid, TrackerControl, etc., were located. But didn’t find apps like Android IMSI Catcher Detector, although old webpages1,2 show Android IMSI-Catcher Detector (AIMSICD).
Are the app-names different for such apps like AIMSICD? There is SnoopSnitch, of course.

Unfortunately, they didn’t hear me ))

It doesn’t matter what F-droid apps you installed if your processor, modem, microphone and all the hardware are manufactured by the evil corporation “google-malware” the user is not the owner!

Android is Google-Malware

Google Pixel is Google-Malware

As an example, I can cite the company NitroKey Shop | shop.nitrokey.com which sells Google Pixel phones (1500-2400 euros) under its own brand with a PROPRIETARY Titan M2 chip! It is important that the support service tells the truth and reports that this chip is proprietary, this is a big plus for this company!

While the hardware of a phone or computer is not free, we are still hostages and not free!

It is very sad to hear when developers of free software do not remember this and advertise the products of the evil corporation Google-Malware!

So other manufacturers you think don’t use evil components? Which one? And how did you test?

I would like to say to clarify, unfortunately I, like you, use evil components as you wrote, this is the reality of our day, but I do not recommend buying phones from the evil corporation Google, I am looking for a free way …

Use the other FOSS mobile OS then, on the other non-evil schematics offering OEMs

there are some right?

Pine?

LIbrem?

All open components, right?

No? :person_shrugging:

you are partly right, this is probably the best solution, the user can mechanically turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microphone, etc. but there are pitfalls, for example the BM818 modem does not have free firmware and the phone is very expensive and shipping to other countries is an adventure))

PinePhone is worse in terms of freedom as far as I know.

Apart from Nitro phones’ hefty premium (100%-150%) over Pixels, the problem is Pixels and Google themselves. While It is true that all chips are proprietary, including those for PCs with Linux (microcode), Google’s proprietary software is quite different in that unlike all other OEMs, Google’s primary business model is grabbing and monetizing user data. That’s the purpose of Gapps.

Google proprietary firmware opens another huge and lucrative avenue for data grabbing: software serving chips, unlike Gapps, does not require Android to run. Chips are hooked directly into hardware and RAM and whatever is happening on that level can’t even be noticed by Android. So, imagine what can be put there without anyone noticing.

I think that both Fairphones and Shiftphones permit unlocking and relocking.

indipendent typo still there?

Join our community: Discord & Telegram lol so much for indipendence

Yes there will always be a chance that a company like google has left a backdoor in their hardware even if the os is changed.
