Origin of Github sponsors URL on app page

Hello,

Some app pages have links to github sponsors. (for example K-9 Mail | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository)

Where is that information fetched from? I don’t see anything in the metadata.

github also permits to use a global FUNDING.yml file from a repo named .github in the user profile which would apply to all the repos of that user. See Getting started with GitHub Sponsors - The GitHub Blog

Would it be possible to support that also in fdroid if there is no .github/FUNDING.yml in the repo ?
