Mate, even well talking about chrome is supporting.
Donāt want DuckDuckGo?
That is a webview-based browser is it not?
Yes it is and if I would choose any chromium derivative I would DDG.
It has some interesting features, itās lean but mean. Iām keeping it as a backup browser and comparison.
See itās install apk size. 3,5 less than Vivaldi, 3x less than brave. No bloatware.
I"m a fan of webview-based browsers and use them quite often (like Fulguris, Privacy Browser, even jQuarks) for hit-and-run tasks.
Fast, light, they get the job done.
Lightning is best in all of these. For basics. jQuarks is second in line for me.
I do not think that DuckDuckGo is a webview-based browser. I think that it is a chromium fork in its own right.
Just moments ago DDG test Speed mark.
To compare Firefox is 7,X and half of that with Dark reader enabled.
Isnāt it dead?
Nope. It is not. It uses the latest WV, and you can see Anthony is very much up & running the project. Some of us are asking him to release a newer version.
Please enlighten me: how many time you spare on that? May be in percent.
Lightning in f-droid latest version is from 2019 and looks like crap.
Used to use it a lot back in the day but way outdated now. Fulguris is a fork (over a year since last update but still a fave).
Is and has always been.
I assume you mean āspendā?
Actually a very big percentage. Iām not a spend-time-in-a-browser kind of person. Iāll fire up the browser to get whatever info I need and get out so something like Fulguris is used daily and often.
Main browser on the phone where I would do the most browsing and need to make use of some addon is Iceraven.
Here, for forum reading and other things like Wikipedia, I actually use Toby Kurienās WebApps. For years now. Just because.
Btw. Canāt find a post where someone, possibly Lycaon, stated that Iceraven is just a puzzle of precompiled by Mozilla.
What about Fennec?
what about Fennec: metadata/org.mozilla.fennec_fdroid.yml Ā· master Ā· F-Droid / Data Ā· GitLab ?
