There is some crazy internal US politics right now where a couple proprietary software companies (Ultrasurf and others) are trying to take over the free software Open Tech Fund money. There is a campaign to try to stop it: https://saveinternetfreedom.tech
I think F-Droid should be an official signer since a) this is about free software, b) key F-Droid developments have been funded by Open Tech Fund.
