F-droid possible on Android Go smartphone?

I have a Nokia-1 smartphone with OS (Google) Android Go. I’d like to try f-droid on it, but in the security settings I can’t find the “unknown sources” option. So it seems impossible to install f-droid on it.
Or is there a turnaround possible??!

This option doesn’t exist anymore in Android 8+. Instead you can give various apps, like F-Droid permission to install apps. Have you tried installing F-Droid? Did you get an error message?
