Omg wow! I’m so excited for that…I can’t believe my Eyes!
May I ask when it would be available approximately and Content Blocker too?
And thank you for all of your hard work! I really appreciate that much!

@SkewedZeppelin Can I install MicroG on DivestOS? And is it selectable or pre installed when first installing the OS? (That would make it much easier for me, than sideloading it via ADB)
Please read the website: Faq - DivestOS Mobile
In case it wasn’t clear, Mulch is available via DivestOS’s third-party repository that is conveniently accessible through the F-Droid client. The apks that are published there are signed and built by the developer not by F-Droid.
@SkewedZeppelin I would love to see Sandboxed Google Play Services/Play Store. Would that be possible? Since MicroG is not recommended or a good Privacy Option, I would really appreciate if sandboxed Services could be implemented! Because as you know, Play Store is a secure way to get Apps from.
if sandboxed Services could be implemented
no.
You can also use Aurora Store to get apps from play store.
I know, but it is not secure that way.
@SkewedZeppelin I saw that there is a list of planned Device Support like Motorola and others. When will they be available? (It is important for me to know, that I stay on my Phone or change)
Upgraded without any issues. Fortunately had bootloader unlocked, as the 7T no longer supports locking. I removed the older gallery app and the older webview. I put the Divest OS fdroid repository at the top in Fdroid Basic.
The device seems perfectly functional for my use case (did not install sim yet).
Is there anything else i have to do now to complete the upgrade from DOS19 to DOS20? I skimmed through the “News” page again, but could not find anything else. Also, is there anything you want me to test?
Thanks again.
@Dark
that sounds about it! have fun!
Hello @SkewedZeppelin, I am a long-time LineageOS user who is interested in trying out DivestOS on my newest device. I would also like to potentially assist in testing with a few of my devices. I joined the XMPP chats to ask about this, but a couple months later I am still unable to send messages. Could I be approved to post? My XMPP username is the same as here.
Sorry if I have missed something I am supposed to do, I’m new to this community and to XMPP in general.
Tried your option, didnt work,
SOLUTION: Disable SECURE APP SWAWNING…
As this was the cause of the Lsposed inability to work
@SkewedZeppelin
Thank you for DivestOS - the most deblobbed alternative mobile OS!
My question.
Would you consider adding Duress pin to force wipe of device?
Creating a trap pin 2244 resulting in dd=… hook is a worthy feature in today’s world thieves, scammers, and bad actors
I have small crypto wallet on my device.
What’s your root usecase? Beyond “I feel in control”
Also, you do know that not many devices can be relocked with Divest and you can always choose to NOT lock and you can always root, yes?
Thank you for your answer. On the site https://divestos.org it is written that the user does not have root rights. As a user and owner of my phone, I would like to have root rights or should I not?))
@bob.fg
DivestOS does not stop you from rooting your device. Just root it like you would anything else via eg. Magisk.
Not even LineageOS comes rooted for years now.
The only difference is that DivestOS does not support it, in the sense that I won’t help you if something breaks because you rooted it.
Thank you very much for your detailed and clear answer.
I was confused by this message on your site :
Root¶
These are ‘user’ builds, root is not included. It is not recommended to flash any other zips alongside our builds. Root frameworks and runtime modification frameworks will severely decrease the security of your device.
. If it was written there as you wrote now, I would not have a question.
I also wanted to clarify with you what does it mean:
Status: Broken
Status: Very Likely Working
Status: Untested
Status: Tested Working
Status: Mostly Working
Status: Reported Working
Status: Mostly Working and Outdated
from such a number of statuses our heads start to explode))
It is possible to make two statuses:
- Working
- Not working
I am clarifying because some time ago I saw that the phone I use had the status Status: Mostly Working and now Status: Broken
Where can I see the repositories with zip builds?
To confirm my words, I found another example where the user also did not understand what you meant.
Have a FP3 here and will probably use it for some month (FP4 will be handed over Family internally and the FP5 will arrive soon but I would like to wait for some other custom rom alternatives).
I was thinking to give DivestOS a try, but I saw that root is not supported.
I don’t want to dive into discussions about root or not and the risks etc. - it’s finally my own choice .
(I know facts like, e.g. that the bootloader cannot be locked etc. - my FP4 is rooted as well)
So probably a dump question, but still I would like to get sure …
Does it actually mean, I will break or potentially brick the FP3, if I try to root with DivestOS installed?
I read DivestOS FAQ - rootSupport, but did not fully get if it is “just” a recommendation to not go for it, or if is technical impossible - so it will prevented that it will boot again, when one would try it or so.
I am also confused by the update message, for example, I see a message under the phone that the update was, for example, 16 days ago and Status: Broken. What is the meaning of these confusing messages?
Since what period does this image have the status broken? Were there working versions? If not, why is this information for the user?
