Cannot install F-droid, unkown sources enabled

Hi, I am new here, sorry if this is not the right place for this question.

I am trying to install F-droid in a Samsung J7 with android 8.1.0.

The apk is downloaded and opens correctly, and when I press “install” the progress bar runs to the end. But then the message “Application was not installed” (this is translated from my Spanish version, it may also be “No instalation”).

The “unknown sources” permit in my phone has to be activated for each application sepsrately. I activated it for Chrome (since i used it to download the apk) and for the file manager (to open it).

Any idea of what might be happenning?

No, not really, maybe try to install it via a file manager?

Else, we need a log from logcat (USB cable, PC at hand, connect them, etc)

Do you have any apps that draw over other apps? Like Red Moon or other screen tinting apps? Android disables installation in this case.

Ok, thanks, I’ll try to get it and post it here

No, I have no screen superpositions

Woah! I had the same problem as op, and this worked. At first I thought maybe my TOR was messing stuff up, but nope, the screen tint app seemed to do it. Thanks!
