Hello, my device has started to bug me about upgrading from Android 14 to Android 15. When I look at the “what’s new” page almost everything has to do with the launcher and home screen. Those features will be lost on me because I replaced the launcher with KISS, and I definitely want to keep that. So the question is, is it in fact worth upgrading? Are there other “killer features” I’d appreciate, and just as importantly, are f-droid apps likely to break?
Yes and no, with each upgrade older apps are no longer available to install.
Is the KISS launcher still running fine?
Works for me
why?
What is the minimum target SDK in Android 15 ?
take this info, it was 23 for Android 14
and it gets bumped with each version
so my guess is … 24 for Android 15
Does it run smooth? how to get rid of lagness?
all works smooth
On what device? which brand?
On all.
You have proof of the contrary? Please tell us, on which device?
Could it be because of storage being full?
Does your vendor provide security updates for Android 14? If not, you don’t have a choice actually: staying at an insecure OS version is dangerous.
I personally haven’t noticed any differences between Android 14 and 15, which is probably a good thing.
Android 14 doestn’t have partial screen sharing but 15 does.
